Chef Sean MacDonald was formerly the Executive Chef of Hexagon Restaurant and 7 Enoteca in Oakville, Canada. With his year at Hexagon restaurant, he brought it to being the highest rated new restaurant of 2017 by Toronto Life, with a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5. He also lead it to being ranked the 4th Best new restaurant of 2018 by Toronto Life. The native Calgarian graduated from the Professional Cooking Program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He began his role as Executive Chef at MARKET Restaurant in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 23. Chef MacDonald won the Alberta Regional Competition of the 2015 Hawksworth Young Chef Scholarship. After being named a 2016 Game Changer, he was featured on the cover of BRANDED Magazine’s 2016 winter issue, a Calgary, based magazine. In June 2016, he won the Canadian title for the San Pellegrino Young Chef Competition and represented Canada in the World Championships in Milan, Italy. In August 2016, Chef MacDonald was the Official Chef of Diner en Blanc Calgary. MacDonald is a contributing columnist to the Globe and Mail Canada’s Globe Style section with his monthly recipes.
